Director and Principal Veterinarian for the Adelaide Hills Equine Clinic

Dr. Lachlan Cameron is a principal owner and partner for the Adelaide Hills Equine clinic, in conjunction with Dr Jason Andrews. He graduated from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Adelaide, Roseworthy Campus in 2016, before moving to the sunshine state and working for a large mixed animal clinic based in Toowoomba QLD. Here Lachie gained a wealth of knowledge in all things equine and bovine, whilst also helping out with all species great and small. After moving back to Adelaide, he partnered with Dr Andrews in late 2019 to overtake the Adelaide Hills Equine Clinic and the branch clinic for the Adelaide Hills Veterinary Services in Mount Barker. With the aim of providing high quality veterinary care to the Adelaide Hills and surrounding districts.

Lachie has a personal interest in reproduction, in particular Bovine and Equine, and that is why he is well suited to work with for the Adelaide Hills Equine Clinic. During his time in QLD, Lachie also spent a lot of time working with in the Thoroughbred industry and is well acquainted with a wide variety of the aspects of that industry including lameness, routine husbandry and dentistry. Dr Lachie has a passion in particular for equine dentistry and continues to provide high quality veterinary care to your beloved pet or performance hose.

Dr Jason Andrews BSc (Hons) BVSc (Hons) MANCZS (Animal Reproduction)

Director and Principal Veterinarian for the Adelaide Hills Equine Clinic

I have been a companion animal veterinarian for 18 years, having spent my entire working career in country mixed and equine practice. My veterinary interests are wide and varied. However, I have a special interest in theriogenology (animal reproduction) particularly dogs and horses. Having recently completed specialist training at Charles Sturt University (Wagga Wagga) in comparative theriogenology becoming a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons (in Animal Reproduction).I have worked in Canberra, the Hunter Valley (Scone), eventually owning a large mixed practice in the New England region of Northern NSW for a number of years but my wife and I always wanted to settle somewhere in the Adelaide Hills.

My wife Karen is a midwife, (very handy when it comes to foaling time) and we have 2 adult children. Amy, our daughter, is a registered nurse, and is currently at CSU in her third year of veterinary science (so you may see her around the clinic from time to time) and Alex our son, who is an electrician in Sydney. And then there are our dogs!! My personal interests include horses, and I am currently lucky enough to be competitively eventing a number of horses that I have bred using imported frozen semen. My wife and daughter also both ride competitively, again on horses we bred. We also like to keep fit, eat good food and drink red wine, hopefully we have come to the right part of the country for that.
