History of Adelaide Hills Equine Clinic
As the Adelaide Hills and Foothills have transformed from open farmland and bush land to make way for the horses. The regional racing centres of Murray Bridge and Strathalbyn continue to develop and expand and so a need for a dedicated equine veterinary practice has evolved.
We have brought together a wealth of veterinary experience and expertise along with a very committed South Australian perspective. We aspire to always be an quality dedicated equine veterinary practice for the Adelaide Hills, Foothills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
We felt strongly that a personal, accessible and professional equine service should be available to the people of the Adelaide Hills and beyond and that we could provide state of the art diagnostics and a comprehensive veterinary service in a convenient setting. Dr Arnold has lived on the Fleurieu Peninsula for the last 44 years and plans to continue within his local community for that long again!
The sad and untimely passing of Dr Harry Fraunfelder was the catalyst, affording us his premises in Hahndorf South Australia from which we launched our new service in January 2012.
The overwhelming need for our services has quickly grown our veterinary team since that time from solely Dr Darren Arnold to a team of up to five equine veterinarians. Within two years we have been able to fully equip our clinic and all our veterinarians with modern diagnostic equipment as well as an operating theatre for routine and emergency surgery and hospital care for medical cases. We can provide a comprehensive range of visiting services and also provide a 24 hour service for emergency care to the Adelaide Hills, Foothills and Fleurieu Peninsula.
